Possibly over 2,000 years old, this askos is attributed to the Ptolemaic period of Ancient Greece. It is made of banded agate with gold fittings and was carved from a single piece of stone that was polished to a high shine. The vessel features a gold lid connected to a hidden disk that controls the flow of liquid and a gold ring base adorned with what appears to be three papyrus stalks. A small carved crab that was likely once inlaid, appears behind the handle. The vessel measures 6.5 cm (2.6 in
