They get a really bad rap as a degrading term but snowflakes are actually modern marvels of physics, chemistry, and geometry (3 of my favorite subjects!!) They form a hexagonal lattice because water molecules naturally arrange into six-sided rings through hydrogen bonds as they freeze, creating six-fold symmetry. Obviously, they must have known my name was Miss Hex for a reason 😏
