Our reservoirs received some fall cleaning recently as part of our FERC license commitment. Crews removed large woody debris from the face of our dams and placed it downstream. These natural materials play a vital role in maintaining heathy aquatic ecosystems, helping shape habitat, stabilize channels, trap sediments, and provide shelter and resting zones (also known as velocity refugia) for trout and other wildlife. | Placer County Water Agency

Caught on camera: Destruction of crucial eagle perch tree. This happened yesterday in Secwepemcul’ecw. Eagle perch trees are crucial habitat for the eagle. Cutting down eagle perch trees is huge violation of Secwepemc Law. Eagle trees are vital to the eagles life at the river and this one stood strong and posed no safety risk to humans. It was along the river bank and it’s where the eagles perch. This is clear and blatant disrespect to the eagles way of life. So wrong that it was cut down.
