Stacey is Howard University’s inaugural Ronald W. Walters Endowed Chair for Race and Black Politics. In her role, Stacey has helped foster interdisciplinary collaboration and expanded research on the impact of race on politics and policy across the university.

Stacey Abrams is a New York Times bestselling author, entrepreneur, producer and political leader. She served eleven years in the Georgia House of Representatives, seven as minority leader, and was the first Black woman to become the gubernatorial nominee for a major party in United States history.

Abrams uses her experience and hard-won insights in politics, business and civic life to break down how ambition, fear, money, and failure function in leadership, while offering personal stories that illuminate practical strategies.

As part of her involvement, Stacey has helped launch and scale a national awareness campaign among a network of large and small communities working to help Americans go electric. In 2023, she helped bring the organization’s life-altering program to DeSoto, GA, supporting the provision of eco-friendly upgrades to every household in the community.
