Jazz, NBA Draft Lottery
Digest more
Now, the Jazz enter another offseason wondering what to do with their roster, especially star forward Lauri Markkanen. The former Cleveland Cavaliers standout has been the subject of trade rumors for years now, but his value is lower now after a contract extension, some injuries and a down season overall.
The Dallas Mavericks won the lottery. Entering the day with a 1.8% chance of landing the top pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, they overcame the odds and earned the right to pick Duke star Cooper Flagg next month, beating out more favored teams like the Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets.
The 2025 NBA Draft Lottery is just days away from shaking out, and with it, the Utah Jazz will likely have their 2024-25 regular season campaign defined with the results of where their first-round pick may land.
Not only did the Jazz drop to No. 5 in the draft order, the Dallas Mavericks landed the No. 1 pick (after having only a 1.8% chance to do so), the San Antonio Spurs snagged the No. 2 pick, the Philadelphia 76ers nabbed the No. 3 pick and the Charlotte Hornets got the No. 4 pick.
