Tourists who were in Indian-administered Kashmir when deadly attacks took place are now returning home to India. Describing the moment the violence broke out, one person said the gunfire had been mistaken for "tigers being hunted".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India called the shooting, the worst against civilians in the region for years, a “terror attack” and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Police in India's Kashmir published notices on Thursday naming three suspected militants "involved in" the attack on tourists this week in which 26 people were killed, and announced rewards for information leading to their arrest.
