The law signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis makes it a state crime to enter Florida after coming into the United States illegally and to re-enter the state following deportation.

The US Supreme Court rejected Florida's emergency bid to let it enforce a controversial immigration law that would ban illegal immigrants from entering the state. The Supreme Court did not provide reasoning for rejecting Florida's appeal and no justices noted any dissent.
