Four of the nine horses in this year's Preakness field -- including Journalism, Sandman and Clever Again -- ran the Kentucky Derby. The other one was American Promise, which will try for a better showing following a 16th-place finish at Churchill Downs.

Just three horses who ran in the Kentucky Derby will run in the Preakness on Saturday -- Journalism, who finished second to Sovereignty, American Promise (16th) and Sandman (7th). Nine horses will enter the race, including several newcomers to the Triple Crown trail.

The Preakness Stakes has a field of nine horses set to race Saturday in Baltimore for the 2025 running of the middle jewel of horse racing's Triple Crown.
