The latest film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe boasts a star-studded cast, including Pedro Pascal of The Last of Us fame following his exit from the HBO series, Vanessa Kirby from The Crown, Joseph Quinn of Stranger Things, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach from The Bear.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the next big-screen adventure from Marvel Studios, and it brings Marvel's First Family to the MCU for the first time. But, as with any superhero movie, there's always the same question: what do you need to watch before you head to the multiplex?

After the success of Thunderbolts* and the momentum building up for Avengers: Doomsday, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is among the most exciting entries in the MCU in a long time, and it may end up becoming a key part of the timeline.

While Fox had respectable success with the 2005 and 2007 Fantastic Four movies (which starred Chris Evans as Johnny Storm pre-Captain America), the former studio saw a Josh Trank-directed 2015 reboot completely tank after a full reshoot, grossing only $167M worldwide. This time, it’s different — it’s Feige’s Fantastic Four.

Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige spoke with reporters about Marvel's past, present and future, including Robert Downey Jr., Miles Morales,
