Cannes Film Festival has updated its strict dress code to prohibit naked looks and more ahead of the event's start on May 13.

“Tarak has been a passionate supporter and champion of independent films,” said Variety’s Co-Editor-in-Chief Ramin Setoodeh. “He is truly deserving of this honor and Variety looks forward to toasting him in Cannes. Ammar will be honored by Variety on May 15 at 4pm at the Majestic Hotel, Salon Croisette.

Quentin Tarantino and his wife, Daniella Pick, arrived on the red carpet for the 2025 Cannes Film Festival's opening night on Tuesday, May 13. Tarantino is a guest of honor at this year's festival. The director and Pick first met in 2009 and married in 2018.

New event will screen both Thai & international films, curated by Donsaron Kovitvanitcha, while an industry section will be headed by Pantham Thongsang.

The limited edition line, Persol 714 Steve McQueen, features a metal plaque inside the left temple with the year 1968 as a nod to the release of ‘The Thomas Crown Affair.’
