Southwest Airlines plans to launch an interline partnership with Taiwanese carrier China Airlines, confirming speculation that it would seek to collaborate with a transpacific operator with a strong presence on the West Coast of the USA.

Southwest Airlines is in discussions with China Airlines Group to create an interline partnership in early 2026. The carrier said Monday that published connections between the two airlines, which would allow customers to book itineraries for both under one ticket, are expected to go on sale later this year.
