A legal permanent resident with a green card who flew back to the U.S. after visiting family in South Korea was detained by immigration authorities and held for more than a week at the San Francisco International Airport,

Kim is now facing deportation proceedings and is currently held at an immigration detention centre in Arizona. His attorney, Karl Krooth, mentioned that he has not yet been able to speak with Kim. The reason for Kim's detention on July 21 remains unclear, according to Krooth.

A doctoral student at Texas A&M who was held by immigration agents at an airport for a week is now detained in Arizona and remains in removal proceedings.
