The 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student has been missing since March 6, and Joshua Riibe, the last person to see her, was named a person of interest—find out more about him here.

Riibe, who has not been accused of or charged with any crime, was named a “person of interest” by the sheriff's office in Loudoun County, Va., where Konanki lives, PEOPLE confirmed last week.

Riibe -- who Konanki met that night -- stayed with her on the beach, according to a Dominican Republic investigative police report. Riibe told the prosecutor the two went swimming and kissed.

Riibe had been detained by Dominican police, but on Tuesday, Judge Rijo ordered his release, saying he could cooperate with authorities without being detained. He was not named as a suspect.
