Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore opened in 1870 and hosted its first Preakness Stakes in 1873. On Saturday, Pimlico will be the center of the horse-racing universe once more for the 2025 Preakness Stakes.

Just as he was in the days leading up to the Kentucky Derby a couple of weeks ago, Journalism (8-5) is the favorite following the Draw for Post Positions for the 150th Preakness Stakes. Journalism drew the No. 2 post Monday in a field of nine for the $2 million, second leg of the Triple Crown.

This will be the final horse race at the track ahead of demolition and a major reconstruction project, which will impact Pimlico and the surrounding Park Heights neighborhood.
