The fight over control of the San Diego Padres appears to have been resolved, at least among Major League Baseball team owners. MLB owners unanimously approved John Seidler to take over as the Padres' control person on Thursday.

“We approved John Seidler to be the control person of the San Diego Padres once he becomes the trustee of the Seidler trust,” commissioner Rob Manfred said Thursday from the MLB owners meetings. “We’re looking forward to continued stewardship of the Padres by a member of the Seidler family, that is really non-controversial.”

John Seidler, the brother of late San Diego Padres owner Peter Seidler, was unanimously approved by Major League Baseball owners as the Padres’ new control person, according to an ESPN report.
