By Isabel Demetz and Jesus Calero (Reuters) -German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius is set to discuss the possibility of Germany paying for American Patriot air defence systems for Ukraine, as he heads to Washington to meet with U.

President Donald Trump said last night the U.S. will send Patriot missiles to Ukraine help it defend itself against Russian attacks.

Trump was also expected to announce a new plan to arm Ukraine with offensive weapons, American news website Axios cited two sources familiar with the matter as saying.
