A man was arrested after DPS identified a “credible threat” toward legislators attending Saturday’s “No Kings” protest at the Texas State Capitol.

"No Kings Day" is a nationwide day of peaceful protest organized to coincide with a military parade in Washington, D.C., marking the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. According to CBS News, the parade and related festivities are expected to cost between $25 million and $45 million.

Thousands of anti-Trump protests are erupting across the United States this weekend under the banner of “No Kings” day.

Opponents of President Donald Trump’s administration are set to rally in Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, Arlington and other North Texas cities.

At noon Saturday, protesters were crowded into City Hall Plaza in Downtown Dallas and Burk Burnett Park in Downtown Fort Worth.

Dozens of No Kings protests are scheduled for June 14 in Texas, including in Austin, Houston and San Antonio. Arlington: 10 a.m. to noon at Arlington Sub Courthouse, 700 E. Abram St.

The "No Kings" protests are set to take place to counter what organizers say are Trump’s plans to feed his ego on his 79th birthday and Flag Day. "No Kings" will follow several days of nationwide protests against federal immigration raids including in Los Angeles, where Trump's deployment of the National Guard further agitated his opponents.

On the same day Melissa Hortman and her husband were murdered in a "politically-motivated" assassination, more "politically-motivated" violence occurred at peaceful protests across the country.

Tens of thousands of Americans joined "No Kings" protests across the United States against the Trump administration.
