The New York Jets made the decision to move on from future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers earlier this offseason. Following that move, it was clear that the Jets would look to add a new starting quarterback in either free agency or the 2025 NFL draft.

Contracts for the deal agreed between the New York Jets and quarterback Justin Fields have been revealed. On the opening day of the 2025 NFL free agency frenzy on Monday, the Jets signed their presumed next starter under center. Upon first being reported, it was said that the 25-year-old inked a two-year deal in New York.

March 9: Jamien Sherwood was a backup going into the 2024 season for the Jets. A year later, and with a team MVP award under his belt, he just became one of the five highest-paid linebackers in the NFL after agreeing to re-sign with the Jets for $45 million ($30 million of it guaranteed) on a three-year deal.
