Karen Read pleaded not guilty to murder charges in the death of Boston police officer John O’Keefe and is facing a retrial after a jury was unable to reach a verdict last year.

Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Yuri Bukhenik spent a third day on the stand Monday in the Karen Read murder trial, facing extensive questioning from both sides of the case.

Karen Read returned to Norfolk Superior Court Thursday for another full day of testimony in her murder retrial.

Massachusetts State Police Sgt. Yuri Bukhenik was the supervisor in charge of the investigation into the death of John O’Keefe in January 2022.

Trooper Michael Proctor was fired for reasons unrelated to the crude text messages he sent while investigating the death of John O'Keefe.
