Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Walker Buehler appeared to call out Francisco Lindor on social media following his ejection versus the New York Mets.
The Mets blasted four home runs in the opening four innings and cruised to a 7-2 victory over the Cubs on Friday night at Citi Field.
Lindor then stole second base after Juan Soto came to bat, and Buehler complained. Estabrook threw the latter player out, and Lindor celebrated the ejection. Cora quickly came out of the dugout to defend Buehler and suffered the same fate.
With the bases loaded and one out in the top of the ninth — and Soto looming on deck — Lindor hit a fly ball just deep enough for a sacrifice fly that scored Luisangel Acuña to lift the Mets to a tense 3-2 win over the Yankees on Saturday afternoon in The Bronx.
