The Los Angeles Lakers have been named as a team to monitor in a potential blockbuster deal for Portland Trail Blazers guard Jrue Holiday.

Per Grant Afseth of FastbreakJournal.com, the Portland Trail Blazers ' Jrue Holiday, another veteran guard known for his defense, "is a name to monitor" as far as L.A. is concerned. "Multiple sources recently told FastbreakJournal.com that Holiday is a name to monitor, particularly as a potential target for the Los Angeles Lakers," Afseth wrote.

The Boston Celtics made two huge trades this NBA offseason, sending Jrue Holiday to the Portland Trail Blazers and Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks.

Simmons would help plug a couple of gaps within the Celtics rotation. He could ease the loss of Jrue Holiday due to his defensive versatility, and he could help eat some of the playmaking load Jayson Tatum was forced to vacate due to an Achilles tendon injury.
