The Dallas Stars are looking for a fresh start. Stars GM Jim Nill announced Friday morning that the team relieved head coach Pete DeBoer of his duties after three years at the helm. It followed a third straight exit in the Western Conference finals and an unpopular move to throw starting goaltender Jake Oettinger under the bus for the team’s struggles against the Edmonton Oilers.

DeBoer led the Stars to three consecutive appearance in the Western Conference Final, but all three ended in defeat.
