The Social Security Administration said Tuesday it is ready to start paying out recipients who either didn’t receive Social Security benefits or whose benefits were reduced as a result of the Windfall Elimination Provision and the Government Pension Offset.
The bill instructs the House energy and commerce committee to slash $880 billion in mandatory spending, as well as a $230 billion cut to made by the House agriculture committee. Social Security funding and benefits are not targeted for spending cuts in this resolution.
