The Houston region is expecting to see temperatures dip below freezing on Sunday. And as of Friday, the forecast from the National Weather Service called for snow on Monday night and Tuesday morning.

With freezing temperatures and icy conditions threatening Texas, many school districts are monitoring the forecast and deciding if they should cancel school.

Below-freezing temperatures will return to Texas as soon as Jan. 18, according to the National Weather Service. Grid conditions are expected to be normal and officials do not anticipate an emergency,
