NetApp volume size is model-dependent, but LUN size is limited to 16TB across the range. LUNs on a NetApp are basically files inside volumes served out by the iSCSI/FC daemon.
The FAS900 manages both NAS volumes and SAN LUNs, and includes the ability to allocate storage between the two, to dynamically expand LUNs and to take snapshots of LUNs.
