Sony has raised the price of its PlayStation 5 consoles worldwide, citing "challenging" market conditions.The price of the digital edition of the PS5 console in the UK has increased by £40 to £429.99.

Sony previously raised the price of the PlayStation 5 in Canada, Mexico, Europe, the U.K., Australia, Japan, and China back in 2022. At the time, SIE then-president Jim Ryan blamed “challenging economic conditions,” including global inflation rates and adverse currency trends.
