The Arizona Diamondbacks conclude their series with the San Diego Padres on Aug. 6, and starter Anthony DeSclafani has had success against them.

Arizona has a 27-28 record in home games and a 54-59 record overall. Diamondbacks hitters have a collective .437 slugging percentage to rank second in the NL. San Diego has a 26-32 record in road games and a 62-51 record overall. The Padres have gone 34-11 in games when they scored five or more runs.

Part of the problem stems from looking up at both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the current division-leading San Diego Padres in the National League West. The Dodgers and Padres are only separated by one game, but the Diamondbacks are 9.5 back themselves.

The Arizona Diamondbacks took down the San Diego Padres by a score of 6-2 on Monday, winning their third straight behind a solid night of pitching and offense.

The D-backs went 9-16 in July, prompting a sell-off that might have been foreshadowed when new ace Corbin Burnes was lost for the year to Tommy John surgery. Arizona has since traded off the likes of Eugenio Suarez, Josh Naylor and Merrill Kelly. The D-backs had lost six in a row before winning their last two games in Sacramento.
