Following the Galaxy Z Fold 7 event, Android Police reported that Samsung said all Galaxy AI features that “are on your phone by default” will remain free. Even so, the fine print on the new product pages still includes the same deadline we’ve seen since the Galaxy S24 launch:
Samsung has confirmed certain AI features will remain free, even if it does begin charging to use its Galaxy AI platform. We don’t yet know whether the brand plans to bring in a paid subscription.
The newly-announced Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 come with six months free, and clearly Google is hoping that by the time that free period is up, you won't be able to live without all the AI goodness you get with a subscription.
Google also announced that, starting with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7, you’ll be able to long-press the power button and have Gemini take a gander at your screen while you’re scrolling. With live access to what you’re looking at, you can ask Gemini for help on stuff like product comparisons. Per Google:

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 aren't cheap, but Samsung says it could've charged more for the foldables.
