Wisconsin Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez announced her campaign for governor, less than 24 hours after Gov. Tony Evers said he would not seek a third term.

Rodriguez is the first Democrat to officially enter the 2026 race. Several others are considering running after Gov. Tony Evers said Thursday he was bowing out. Wisconsin’s 2026 governor’s race is open with no incumbent running for the first time since 2010.
