Romanian, Portuguese and Polish nationals have been casting their ballots, with millions of Europeans taking to the polls on Sunday.

In Portugal, the parliamentary election saw the governing centre-right Democratic Alliance (AD), led by Prime Minister Luis Montenegro, take 89 seats in the 230-seat parliament, well short of 116 needed for a majority. The party garnered 32.7 percent of the vote.

Near complete results in Romania on Sunday indicated Nicusor Dan, the centrist mayor of Bucharest, won the presidential election and beat his far-right rival George Simon. In Poland, liberal Warsaw
