For weeks, just about everyone in and around the NFL knew that the Tennessee Titans were selecting University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick. After the draft, Ward was asked how he's going to prove that the Titans were right to take him with the top pick.

The NFL draft kicked off Thursday night, and the first round was full of action. Every team originally was slated to pick in the first round, but four trades in the first round shifted things around.

Miami (Fla.) quarterback Cam Ward will sign a four-year contract worth about $48.84 million with the Tennessee Titans after being the first player picked in the 90th NFL Draft on Thursday night.
