Two men who were reported missing on Lake Lanier in Forsyth County were found safe at a hotel the next morning after they got lost while paddleboarding.

Local authorities said Thursday that the boaters had been safely located after a search began Wednesday night.

The men set out on a kayak and paddleboard from their cove without their cellphones, intending to explore the lake.

Authorities, including the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, Marine Unit, Fire Department and Georgia State Patrol responded to reports of two men missing around 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
