Mark Zuckerberg said Monday that Meta would spend hundreds of billions of dollars to build several massive AI data centers for superintelligence, intensifying his pursuit of a technology that he has chased with a talent war for top AI engineers.
"Here, people say, 'I want the fewest number of people reporting to me and the most GPUs,'" Mark Zuckerberg said about the AI talent war.
A retiree in rural Georgia has accused Meta's new AI data center, which is situated around 1,200 feet from her home, of polluting her water.
An $8 billion trial by Meta Platforms shareholders against Mark Zuckerberg kicks off on Wednesday over claims that they illegally harvested the data of Facebook users in violation of a 2012 agreement with the US Federal Trade Commission.
Investors allege in their lawsuit that Meta did not fully disclose the risks that Facebook users’ personal information would be misused by Cambridge Analytica.
