Detainees being held at the Florida migrant center, "Alligator Alcatraz," have spoken out about the deplorable conditions at the facility, including maggots in the food, lack of access to water to bathe, and denial of religious rights. And now we know why Democrats were denied entry into the facility.

Amid the controversy, emergency management officials on Wednesday invited state legislators and members of Congress to visit the facility on Saturday, setting up a 90-minute tour restricted to lawmakers.

The state is inviting lawmakers to visit the migrant detention center, but turned away lawmakers who showed up unannounced.
