On Monday morning, flash floods led to a water rescue at a trail in south Overland Park, where one woman died. The woman, identified as 62-year-old Anupama Vaidya, had been walking on a trail at Negro Creek when flash flood waters swept her away, officials said.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Hours of overnight rain caused concern early Friday morning for drivers. The Missouri Department of Transportation reported water standing in the westbound lanes of Interstate 70 at the Benton Curve heading into downtown. Water is also standing on I-70 near Noland Road in Independence as of 4 a.m.
