In public and behind the scenes, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is leading efforts to push back on Donald Trump and challenging Democrats to do more to oppose the president’s actions.

Speaking at a dinner for New Hampshire Democrats that is usually reserved for those about to run for president, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker was sounding like a 2028 presidential candidate Sunday night. Pritzker said he has never before called for mass protests and disruption, but the Trump White House has taken him there.

Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker (D) on Sunday called for mass protests against the Trump administration and blasted “do-nothing Democrats” who have failed to mount a stronger opposition to the Republicans in control of the federal government.
