Houston will sign former Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb to a one-year contract if Chubb passes his physical with the Texans on Monday, per multiple reports. Chubb, 29, missed most of 2023 after a season-ending injury in Week 2, and he logged just eight games last season before a broken foot ended his season in Week 15.

The addition of Chubb also means the Texans will face a roster crunch at the running back position soon. Chubb will be the fifth running back on a team that just spent a fourth-round pick on adding depth to the backfield, re-signed Dare Ogunbowale earlier in the offseason and signed Mixon to a three-year extension last year.

There are only so many jobs to go around, so the Texans' pursuit of Nick Chubb could result in a target making their way to Dallas.
