Israel said Monday that more than 120 truckloads of food aid were distributed by the U.N. and aid agencies in the Gaza Strip, French news agency AFP reported. Both aid groups and people with family in Gaza described the situation as the worst it has ever been.

Trump said the facilities would be open-access, with “no boundaries” and “no fences,” and framed the effort as a direct response to the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza. “That’s real starvation stuff,” he said. “I see it, and you can’t fake that. So, we’re going to be even more involved.”

The Hamas-run Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said in a Monday statement that another 14 people died of malnutrition over the previous 24 hours, including two children. Another 29 Palestinians were killed by Israeli airstrikes since midnight local time, the ministry said.
