Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have signed creative control over the James Bond franchise to Amazon MGM Studios.

The studio will take the reins for the 60 year-old movie property, while Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli will remain co-owners as they move to the sidelines as part of a joint venture transaction.

For over six decades, the Broccoli family has been as much a part of the James Bond film franchise as vodka martinis (shaken, not stirred, of course), beautiful women and henchmen with terrible aim.

The James Bondseries has lasted for over 60 years, with several brilliant actors including Sean Connery and Roger Moore taking on the titular role. The franchise has been under the steady leadership of producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson,

Last week, franchise owners Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson revealed that they'd be stepping back creatively from the franchise
