Tinder has been betting on friends helping each other date, like with Double Date Mode — and 37 percent of young singles plan to go on group or double dates in 2026. Tinder also reported that 42 percent of young singles said that friends influence their dating life.
The dating app’s latest forecast re: the state of modern love identified these four trends as the ones to keep an eye out for next year. Per the report, these trends highlight shared values set to reshape dating culture in the coming months.
Tinder does have a competitive edge. It's widely used and often the first app people turn to when they want to start dating again. Despite its reputation as a hookup app, Tinder says it's meant for people to find the relationship they want, whether it's an open relationship, love or new friends on their terms.
In terms of first dates, Tinder said singles are trending towards “playful and low-pressure ... like a walk or a coffee.” Meanwhile, 35 per cent of Tinder users are searching for a “low-key lover ... who keeps it chill, avoids drama, and brings the vibes.”
