One million micro:bits are being delivered to British school children to help teach STEM, but is it the right way to do things?
The micro:bit module has an array of LEDs on one side and a Nordic Semiconductor Cortex-M0 microcontroller. It also has an accelerometer, magnetometer, Bluetooth, and USB support.
The micro:bit sits in its edge connector on the underside of a handheld PCB above a pair of AAA batteries, while on the other side are an OLED display and the usual set of pushbuttons.
