Sunset Park moves ahead with plans for a “just transition” after the Trump administration lifts its stop-work order on the Empire Wind energy project.

Empire Offshore Wind, a subsidiary of Equinor, has been notified by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) of the US Department of the Interior that the stop-work order for its Empire Wind project has been lifted.

The Trump administration had issued a highly unusual stop-work order on the Empire Wind project last month, leading to intense pushback from officials in New York.
