House Republicans are preparing to receive a package of spending cuts from the White House related to the Department of Government Efficiency.
Speaker Mike Johnson on Wednesday signaled that House Republicans are “eager and ready” to formalize the White House’s so-called DOGE cuts as soon as President Donald Trump’s team makes the official request to Congress.

White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller said on Tuesday the DOGE cuts must be approved in a separate package because it deals with discretionary spending, meaning the annual costs authorized by Congress through the appropriations process.
The new blueprint shows that a vast array of education, health, housing and labor programs would be hit, including aid for college and cancer research.
