Mike Williams retires, Najee Harris suffers an injury, and rookie standouts rise as the Los Angeles Chargers open 2025 training camp with major storylines on both sides of the ball.
Per NFL Media, Harris has ended his holdout and officially signed his rookie contract. He was one of several second-round picks, including Mike Green and Shemar Turner, to sign their rookie deals on Thursday, and the Chargers can thank the San Francisco 49ers for that.
Hortiz struck gold in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, selecting two corners — Tarheeb Still and Cam Hart — who were important contributors as rookies. Hart and Still return and will be firmly in the mix for starting spots. Hart is an outside corner. Still can play outside and nickel.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert showed up at training camp this week with red eyes. Strange sentence to put out there, yet true. Herbert told reporters like ESPN’s Kris Rhim during a press conference that the red contact lenses offer UV protection.
NFL Insider Mike Garafolo shares details on Dallas Cowboys training camp with new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
Plagued both by injuries and inconsistent performances, Anthony Richardson Sr. has only started 15 games since the Colts made him the No. 4 pick of the 2023 draft. On a related note, Indianapolis shelled out $14 million to bring in Daniel Jones on a one-year deal this offseason.
