Texas Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien was not in the starting lineup Saturday against the Toronto Blue Jays after a hit-by-pitch forced him to take a rare day off. Semien will undergo X-rays Saturday afternoon after Toronto right-hander Chris Bassitt hit him on the right wrist with a sinker in the second inning of Friday’s 6-5 loss.
“Marcus Semien is out of the lineup after being hit by a pitch last night,” Shawn McFarland reported. “He said he woke up today and his wrist was swollen. It’s wrapped up now. He’s getting x-rays later today.”
