The Conjuring movie franchise has spooked audiences with chilling scenes and thrilling jump scares since 2013.

According to the New England Society For Psychic Research (NESPR), the organization founded by the Warrens and currently co-directed by their son-in-law Tony Spera and daughter Judy Spera, the Smurl family "haunting" took place in West Pittson, Pennslyvannia in the '70s and '80s.

Last Rites*, will explore the infamous Smurl Haunting, a fifteen-year ordeal of alleged demonic infestation. Ed and Lorraine Warren investigated the disturbing claims in 1986, encountering chilling phenomena and a powerful demonic force.
