The president's muted response after the attack was notable for how it differed from Shapiro’s actions in the hours following the attempt on Trump’s life in July.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 38-year-old Cody Balmer, of Harrisburg, they are investigating how the break-in occurred and the motive for it.

Shapiro said he spoke with Trump for more than 15 minutes, and the two discussed several topics, including the scary arson attack on the governor’s mansion as he and his family were asleep.
