Police say Joshua Riibe, an American tourist from Iowa, was with Sudikhsa Konanki just before she vanished. While police say no suspects have been identified in Konanki’s disappearance, Riibe’s lawyers say he has been confined to his hotel and escorted by police everywhere he goes.

The search for a U.S. college student who went missing in the Dominican Republic intensified on Monday after a man questioned by authorities visited the beach where she was last seen and spoke with officials.
