MIAMI (Reuters) -Formula One drivers are always asking teams to give them the tools for success but champions McLaren went a step too far when they left two torches in Lando Norris's car at the Miami Grand Prix on Friday.

Norris was able to return to the pits, but the FIA immediately launched an investigation over McLaren allegedly “releasing a car in an unsafe condition”. The team were found guilty of the offence and were handed a warning.

LANDO NORRIS’ MCLAREN team are being investigated by Formula One’s governing body after they left tools in his cockpit during opening practice for the Miami Grand Prix. Norris said he needed to kick his stuttering championship challenge into gear here in Florida after seeing team-mate Oscar Piastri usurp him at the top of the standings.
