Mount Etna has again captivated the world with a spectacular show. The volcano that towers over eastern Sicily spewing smoke and ash high into the air.

A satellite from the European Space Agency captured huge plumes of ash and smoke from Europe's largest volcano.

Mount Etna is one of the world's most active volcanoes. It's the most active volcano in Europe. Its activity increased during 2025, including spectacular eruptions in February, April, and May this year, producing lava flows and ash clouds.
